The JNET Portal is Jacob’s main corporate intranet portal. It has been implemented using Oracle Portal 3.09. A new initiative is currently being undertaken to replace the old portal either by IBM Websphere Portal or OracleAS Portal 10g.

The National Apply Online is a web application that uses J2EE components. It captures the information of prospective members online during the registration process, including medical questions, PDF generation, application submission for enrollment into the Kaiser membership database. It has a complex business functionality of approving or denying an applicant based on the answers in the medical questionnaires.

The Customer Account Services is a web application that uses basic Java Server side components. This system is for Kaiser purchasers who want to pay bills online, view their subscribers and family information, as well as to terminate and enroll new subscribers. It grabs the information from the mainframe database using Java proxies wrapped around Coolgen programs with Java programs to translate this information and display it online.

The Customer Information System is an application that uses IEF-Composer 4/Coolgen tool that generates C programs for the mainframe. This application displays and does all membership transactions within Kaiser Permanente.

Role

  • Has been one of the key developers for several modules of the application which includes the medical questionnaire for all the different regions, eval and route modules that determines based on the answers the user has entered – if it is clean or unclean.
  • Has been leading teams during releases and testing cycles for NAOL modules, including maintenance, enhancements, change requests from the business side.
  • Designed and created the Subscriber List and Family List pages for CAS. Entails generating new Java proxies and creating Java wrappers to translate these information.
  • Designed and developed Coolgen programs for online and batch for membership billing, benefits and eligibility modules for CIS.

  • Redesign, Refactor of existing modules in both applications.
